Hilton Avenue Community Church is a new church.
As our guest, you will feel right at home because we are all new members with no seniority! Over the last several months we worked through a process that resulted in much more than simply choosing a name. We emerged with a fresh focus and vision for Hilton Avenue Community Church.
Here is who are: we are a community of imperfect Christ-followers desiring to model what it means to love God, love others, and enjoy the Adventure of Faith in Jesus Christ.
Bill Shorey began working in churches while still in high school, soon after responding to God’s gift of salvation. His passion for the kingdom of Christ led him to Bible college and into full-time ministry in his early twenties. Along with his wife, Sandy, Bill has ministered to God’s people in a variety of settings, from a garage in Northern Maine to a 1000-seat sanctuary in Georgia—in youth ministry, church planting, ministry recovery, and conference speaking.
God often brings us around full-circle, and in this calling, Bill and Sandy are returning to church planting. In this case, re-planting a work.
Bill grew up in the beautiful state of Maine; Sandy is a Texan. They have three grown and married children and two (very smart and handsome) grandsons, along with a couple of granddogs, Rook and Dado.
As a native New Englander, Bill has long been a die-hard Boston sports fan. When the Patriots are playing and on TV in Georgia, you will usually find the Shoreys wearing their Patriots jerseys and cheering from the couch.
