What to expect:
Expect to receive a warm welcome, because Hilton Avenue Community Church is diverse, and you will meet people of all ages and walks of life. Many of our folks come dressed casually, so don’t worry about how you look.
The goal in our worship service is to focus on the Lord Jesus Christ. Teaching and preaching is based on scripture and Jesus. Prayers will be in Jesus’ name. Music will focus on worshipping God the Father, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit. If you grew up in church, you will hear songs that have remained part of our worship at Hilton Avenue Community Church, but you will also hear music and lyrics that are fresh and new; all remain focused on God.
When you arrive:
There is plenty of parking in front of the church. We have designated spaces closest to the building specially for you! Look for the signs marked “Visitor.”
The sanctuary is on the left side of the building. Currently there is a sign that says “Chapel.” You’ll walk down the left walkway to the covered entry door past the courtyard.
Once inside, you’ll enter the foyer, and you should be greeted by one of our members and given a program guide for the worship service. The sanctuary will be to your left.
You are welcome to find a seat you’ll feel comfortable in, or one of our members will be happy to help you.
Children eight and under are welcome to join our children’s program, The Avenue Kids, during the worship service. A greeter will guide you to the appropriate room.
We want to get to know you! There are connect cards in the pew holders in front of you. Please take one and fill out basic information and drop the card in the offering plate as it goes by. We promise not to harass you or share your information. We’re just thrilled you’ve joined us for worship and want to let you know.
Coffee and Donuts!
We have coffee and donuts available in the foyer, and we’d love for you to enjoy some before the service and get to know the folks who call Hilton Avenue Community Church home.
If we are your first attempt at gathering with a faith community, we hope you will sense a distinct difference from other gatherings. We believe you will find it worshipful. We believe you will find it meaningful. We believe you will sense that we love God, love you, and are enjoying the adventure of following Christ!
We hope this information helps you to know what to expect when you visit. If you have other questions we haven’t answered here, please fill out our online contact form. Someone will reply as soon as possible.
